Would my fps significantly go up if i upgraded my processor which is single core to a dual core version of it?

Could you tell us the game that you are getting 5-8 FPS in? If its a physics intensive game then yes it would up your FPS, but otherwise the real bottleneck is the graphics card. Then again, both are obsolete and crap so it would be best to upgrade both.
