How do I fix the atapi.sys file?

I have a windows 2000 computer and it crashed on me. I inserted the windows 2000 cd to re-install the operating system, but when the cd boots up, the software comes to a stop with a message saying " the atapi.sys file has an error (4096) in line 2320. What should I do from here?
