Why do parents lie to their children?

sometimes, it's for your own good. about the tooth fairy and santa claus, weren't you happy to find a dollar under your pillow and weren't you happy to find presents under the christmas tree for you? your parents just wanted to see you happy. maybe when your a parent you will do the same thing just to make your children happy. you probably don't want your children growing up never experiencing happiness, right?
