Only hope ??

i am singing a song called only hope by mandy moore for a competition. i also need a biblical refrence that the song relates to. the song is about how we need to give everything to God because he is our"only Hope" i dont want all the answers but i do need a book and chapter. i would really like to find it by myself but i dont know where to start thanks!!♥
